Residency Changes

You may qualify for a Special Enrollment Period if you move to:

  • A new home in a different ZIP code or county

  • The U.S. from a foreign country or U.S. territory

Or if you move to or from:

  • The place where you attend school (for students)

  • The place where you live and work (for seasonal workers)

  • A shelter or other transitional housing

Moving for medical treatment or staying somewhere for vacation does not qualify you for a Special Enrollment Period.

You’ll need to show proof of having had qualifying health coverage for at least one day during the 60 days prior to your move, except if you’re moving from a foreign country or U.S. territory.
